Today, FSR joins the nation in honoring the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
Let each of us take a moment to reflect upon and acknowledge that our freedoms, liberties, and peace came at a significant price. Families have lost a Father, a Mother, a brother, a sister, a son, or a daughter. Too many families still do not have closure as their loved ones are Missing in Action/POWs.
Today, let us remember and honor their sacrifices and grieve with their families and friends. General Norman Schwarzkopf said, “It doesn’t take a hero to order men into battle. It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle.” Men and women answered that inner calling to serve knowing the risks. As 1st LT Travis Manion, USMC surmised, “If not me then who…”
